The course is offered free to 300 participants in 2016-17 through funding from the Further Mathematics Support Programme.
This course is for early career teachers (either NQTs or those training to teach mathematics), and is led by experienced teacher educators from IOE. The content covers key topics in the new syllabus, such as making sense of algebraic expressions, calculus and graphs, modelling with mathematics. Every seminar starts from GCSE, and explores a few mathematical problems in depth. It is designed to boost your confidence and skills to teach advanced GCSE/A-level maths topics in an engaging and responsive way. We also introduce issues of assessment, planning and inclusive participation.
